Innovative Research in T cell Biology and Cancer Immunology
T cells are key effector cells in anti-tumor immunity. We study the molecular mechanisms that control T cell function in the tumor microenvironment, with a particular focus on inhibitory pathways that constrain T cell effector function. We also study the mechanisms that allow tumor cells to evade T cell-mediated attack. Our approach integrates mechanistic studies in experimental models with interrogation of discovered pathways in humans in order to translate our discoveries to clinical application.
